Calgary Seniors emerged in 1995 when three similar organizations came together to better serve seniors in our community.
Our agency provides a variety of innovative and much needed programs to seniors throughout Calgary with the goal to end senior isolation and help them remain in their homes as long as possible.
We provide assistance with transportation, social support, housing, and critical needs, as well as information and referrals. Calgary Seniors also educates the community on how to identify seniors who are at risk, helps build awareness about seniors issues, and ensures people have a way to request help for seniors they believe are in need or at risk.
What makes us different is that we combine social work/outreach with volunteer programming and community engagement. Not only do we assist in social crisis situations, we also provide ongoing support to ensure these seniors are supported appropriately longer term.
We accomplish all of this through the hard work of dedicated staff, including a team of registered social workers and volunteer coordinators, as well as the time and effort of hundreds of volunteers. Calgary Seniors is committed to providing effective services to at-risk seniors in our city to ensure they can remain safe and independent in their homes.
We make a difference, one senior at a time.
