SHINE is a collection of programs especially designed for active seniors and older adults to help them improve all aspects of personal wellness in the natural setting of the Kortright Centre.
Studies have shown that “Nature can promote the physical, mental, and social health of older adults”.1
SHINE offers a variety of programs exploring different aspects health through activities in the beautiful natural settings of the Kortright Centre.

About the Kortright Centre
Situated 10 minutes north of Toronto, on 325 hectares of conservation lands, Kortright Centre combines a natural oasis with some of the most leading edge sustainable education programs and events in Canada. The centre hosts 100,000 visitors annually and offers environmental education programs for schools and sustainable technology workshops for the public, trades and professionals. Kortright’s 16 km of trails wind through mature forests, meadows, wetlands, and down into the valley of the Humber River.
